I am keeping 4 bettas right now, one female and three males.
Spike
Bettaboy
This is after Heidi chewed off his fence in a failed breeding attempt. You can see the clear areas where they are growing back now. He was a beautiful proud half-moon, but she trashed him like a trailer park stripper with an unsatisfied meth habit and an empty pack of Marlboros.
Zed, my first surviving betta fry.
Heidi, who was Queen of the 30g Betta sorority, until she ate all her sisters.
She lives in the top of that Thirty but there are no other topwater fish in the tank to bother her much. Which is lucky for them. she is a stone cold killer and I have watched her bite a piece right off of Bettaboy and eat it right in front of him.
I have tried to breed her as an aggressive fighter several times, but she will not have a mate. She has lived with a male fish for many weeks but eventually she always gets tired of it and starts biting them.
