I live in Nj and wanted to get a big pool around 2thousand plus gallons and could I put a sturgeon in it with a Diy garbage can filter and a pump to circulate water and are there any species that stay under 6ft

Aren’t sturgeon a protected species? How would you go about managing 2000+ gallons of water a tank of that water volume would require something a little more advanced a trash can. I couldn’t imagine cycling something that big from scratch.

Most sturgeons get 7-12 ft long. 2,000 gallons might be a little small.

Well if people on YouTube are doing it then you should be good to go. I guess those sighs around the bays and rivers in Ny/Nj about sturgeon being illegal to possess are incorrect.

My LFS has them every time I go in, under a foot long for $70. People keep them in their koi ponds.
