Biggest I've seen for gold in an aquarium is 14" and he had it for a few years. 16" is max in the wild. I've had mine for 2-3 years now idk how big it is maybe 10". Mine is a push over, likes company. However DB's is a jerk, said t was his worst wolf, only case I've heard of like that, but be aware a jerk is possible lol. Malas stay smaller than blacks. Malas you can expect 2'. Curus 2.5' but fatter on average. These are in the wild. I've heard of 20" malas and 2' curus in aquaria.Yeah I know I prefer blacks. I have a longing to get another.
Are the golds worth considering, do they get to 16" in aquaria? What's their attitude like?
Mala is available to but just get too big, can't be arsed to grow another red out.
Sorry but you are wrong and if not it's ground breaking to any community into fish. Aimara is the largest reported to get 4'+ and there's only like two fish over 3' ever reported in tank and they were caught at that size. Lacerdae is second largest supposed to be able to hit 3' in the wild but in aquaria DB's Lucy is the only specimen I know of. He's had for years and she's 2' maybe take a little fat for sure.Seen golds get over 2 ft, blacks will eventually get 3 or 4 foot with proper care
Had my curu for under 4 years and it was a hefty 15" in a 120 at that. So imagine if someone keeps one properly for 20 years plus. And agreed if there's proof please show it.I think you getting mixed up with mala and Aimara.
Hoplerythrinus unitaeniatus
Is the gold wolf all literature confirms 16" absolutely maximum size.
Hoplias curupira
Is the black, again all lit states absolute max at 28" but rarely pass 16" in aquariums proved by many people.
Sorry about the bold text, not sure how that has happened lol.
By all means if you can show evidence of 4' blacks or even 3' and 2' golds please post it up.
There's no proof of curus over 2' on mfk guarantee that, I've searched and read every thread for wolves, by scientific and common names.
