hey, time for an update...
I have made the right decisions.
In detail this means the young pair is about to breed. They have chosen a hole in a big piece of wood, where they sit in and flirt. How can a fish of that size already lay eggs?!
I am impressed...
The babys of my female are fighting for the best territories and impressing each other.
I have taken a few pics of the new pair.
Here we go.
What makes me wonder is the size of the eyes in comparison to the rest of the head.
Is that normal at that size? Have they grown too slow/fast? Are they inbred?
Also the headshape of the female is very acara- like, don´t you think so?
But they are juvies so this will change with their growth I hope.
Their colours are stunning, the fins are looking great and I still don´t know if these are wildcaught ones or not. The behaviour is way more intense than for captivity bred ones I think. But the colour... I don´t know.
