Isopod attached to gill membrane

I happened to be visiting some family in CA last week and I went fishing with my uncle. We hooked a few ling cod and a starry flounder. One of the lings had about a fairly large isopod attached to gill, take a look.

Yes, unfortunately I hadn't noticed until we got home and was in process of filleting but I popped it off and it immediately started crawling on cutting board. I have heard the giant Isopoda are edible but no way were going to sample this one.

I've seen photos of big ones and wondered how well they would do in an aquarium.

You can freeze em then feed to fish a week later
