It eats massivore, carnivores, hikari algae wafers, market shrimps, I tried to keep it with other plecos but it didn’t work it the most aggressive pleco I ever owned. It never back down even when it losing the fight it just keep going and going so now only pleco with it is a albino sailfin that stay clear of it way.
Here’s a link to my old post on my L234. Fun aggressive fish - had to sell him when I left the east coast.

Brave guy that goes out in the open to feed despite its size disadvantage.

Slightly more than a month since the last update.

Here it is laying next to L24. I hope I am not imagining things but there is a slight yellowish tone coming back on its wormlines.

Further to your earlier mention; LDA097 is the same as Megalancitrus Barrae?

Been doing some reading on them and so far: L113 and L234 are being identified as Megalancitrus Paranus (basically the same?) and there is LDA097 that you mentioned and also Megalancitrus Barrae too.

When I was looking for my Megalancistrus I wanted to make sure I was getting the yellow kind. They call the Megalancistrus sao francisco Barrae, this is were it start to get confusing the Sao Francisco Megalancistrus according to planet catfish is more of copper color not a nice yellow. I was comparing body shape and head shape, spots and pattern and only see that the l234 and Lda097 are the most yellow but seen people call L234 and LDA097 “barrae yellow” but I know the L234 is not a true barrae but it can be yellow so this only leave the Lda097 and sao francisco to be barrae they have similar body and head shape the sao francisco dnt get as large and have more flatter body than the Lda097 but only the LDA097 is yellow so I think LDA097 is the true barrae yellow.

Yes your sould start to get lighter and lighter you will see the spots better but I dnt know when it will get the nice yellow mine is a light color but not gold yet.
