I have a juvenile Senegal Bichir (about 4in) that I have had less than a month. I have him in a 45gal tank with a Delhezi bichir of the same size. I was having trouble getting my Del to eat, and my Sen would end up eating his food AND half of hers. Now his back half is floating up awkwardly and he is having troubles swimming and keeps wedging himself under branches so he can lay flat. Is he just gassy?? I really hope he doesn't have swim bladder disease...

Sounds like it gulped some air and it’s trapped. It will eventually pass but since it’s wedging itself and tonprevent some stress then would add a little Epsom salt 1 tbsp per 5g.

So I looked in on him this morning and he is back to swimming like his normal hot dog self! I guess I'll be just be extra careful feeding my danger noodles from now on to stop them from blimping.
