Hi I'm new to this site

I would like to ask if peacock bass, spotted gar, and a tiger oscar would be tank mates permanently. If so can you suggest how many fish of each species. and if not what can you suggest?

My father and I will set up a 7ft L x 4ft W x 4ft H tank at the end of December

I would also recommend some bottom dwellers along with the stock you have maybe a bicher, large clown loaches, maybe a RTC or a tiger shovelnose

As a general rule : tank should be wide enough for fish to easily turn around, and a minimumof 4x the fishes length, since both rtc and tiger shovelnose get to about 4 ft.....

Some people even go as far as to say a minimum of 8 times the length of the fish.

The bigger the better, bigger tanks tend to allow for healthier fish, more exercise and adequate water that remains more stable, plus allows fish to escape each other and behave more naturally

there are plenty of decent sized bottom dwellers that don't exceed 24" for you to choose from, go on PCF and do a size filtered search
