They really like the bbs, going after it very nicely. I also mix in some pulverized into dust flake food, but I don’t know if that’s helping or just getting the tank dirty. They’re starting to pick at the bottom and sides of the tank for food now. It’s very cool to see them progress. I think they’re too young yet to see any differences in color, but some of them are definitely bigger than the others.

I moved some of what I think are some of the lighter colored fry into their own tank. Once separated and all together, they most defenitely look lighter. I guess I will find out in a few weeks if I was right. I’m going to keep separating them as I see them and keep both tanks going to see if I was right.
The darker colored fry are in the second pic, lighter in their new tank in the first pic.

My JD’s have once again laid eggs. There seems to be more eggs this time. Her last batch (the ones that I removed and put into separate tanks) was laid on 5 August. She’s an egg laying machine! I might take a few of these fry, but will let them raise the majority. Hopefully that slows her egg laying a bit as I would like her to put on some size.

So, the fry are off of bbs now, graduated to crushed flakes and Massivore pellets that I let them pick at. I think both sets of fry enjoy the Massivore!

If you have the ability to continue feeding bbs at this size, it would benefit you to do so in my opinion. With my last batch, I cut them off of bbs early like this and they have been growing at a fraction of the rate that my previous batch grew. The ones raised on the bbs seemed much more healthy and vigorous as well. I know bbs are a pain, but it is worth it in the long run.

Ive taken them off of the BBS a while ago and started feeding flake and crushed Massivore. They seem to be growing really well.
I just had my first massive cull this morning. My Red Texas and Green Terror had a lot of snacks....
I’ve saved 12 of the larger regular looking ones just in case mom or dad die, then I still have a semi base stock to continue.
I’ve also separated out 7 of the whiter ones from the electric blue batch. I’ve not culled any of the EB’s yet, waiting to see how they turn out, might get a stunner with some of the color already being shown in the tank with the most EB’s.
Anyway, next step in the plan is to breed one of the separated EB’s to my female and hope for a gold somewhere in there.
My breeder pair has yet another spawn in the tank with them. I’ve left them alone with them in the hopes that they will learn to be good parents and raise a few of their own. They ate the last brood after about 2 days free swimming. We are at day 3 of free swimming now, so that’s progress of a sort.
Here’s the pictures of my three tanks of babies, all from the same spawn that hatched on 8 August. They refuse to stop moving, so bear with the fuzzy pictures until I break out the real camera for some bright color shots later on down the road.

I forgot to mention that the regular looking babies are noticeably larger than the EB’s, about 2 to 3 times bigger, depending on if the big Boi of the spawn is used or not.

I have finally gotten around to take some pictures with my actual camera (as opposed to my crappy tablet camera). The fry are also starting to color up a little and get big enough that they have stopped, for the most part, constantly darting around the tank.
So, without further ado, here they are.

This one is of a few of the 12 BGJD that I have kept

The rest are of my EBJD's that I am growing out. I have them broken into 3 different tanks. Tank 1 has the majority. I am pulling fish from this one as they catch my attention. Tank 2 is the bigger, lighter colored ones. Tank 3 is the bigger, bluer ones.
