29 gallon tank has ich, how to treat it

I have a 29 gallon and I noticed a few fish have ich (new fish, but some of my older ones got it too), I was wondering would heating the tank to 82 degrees and then adding in 1 tsp of salt per gallon kill the ich (not removing the substrate or doing a lot of water changes and stuff, just raising the temperature and adding salt) kill the ich or do I need to do more?

I used a methylene blue treatment with raised temperature to treat it. Then water changed frequently when it was out.

Salt and heat works too. What fish are you treating though?

red eyed tetra, dojo loach and an albino cherry barb, but all in all I have red eyed and rummynose tetras, 2 smaller plecos (green phantom and gold nugget, an albino red tailed shark, peacock gudgeons, and kuhli loaches

Would increase the temp to 86 and add salt 1 tsp per gallon three times 6 hrs apart. Gravel vacuum and water changes as normal. Add the salt back with the amount water removed with the water change. Leave like this for 2 weeks and should be gone. Atleast a week after the last spot is gone.

Or just meds like paragaurd, Api ich cure, and kordon ich treatment.

Don’t do both or combination of both.

I have sand for planted tanks, I can't gravel vac it, I do water changes once every 2 weeks or so

If it’s planted then dose with some meds I mentioned and should be good.

It’ll work but salt will kill plants. Ich can be on the plants too. That’s the prob.

I'd try meds before messing around with your plants. Unless they haven't grown in yet.
