Popeye?

My poor Oliver has an issue again.
Both females in the tank have spawned late last week. So aggression has been higher then normal. And I think my big female hurt Oliver’s eye.

This was him on Thursday
Some teeth marks near his eye, maybe even some scratches on the lens?

Saturday
It has some bluish green near the bottom of the eye and slight inflammation around the eye socket.

And today
More green, more inflammation, lots more teeth marks, and hazing.

I didn’t notice it till just now. Those other pictures are just ones I happen to snap but never looked back at them till now.

Just before I started the water change I measured ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20.
I’m doing my normal fin level water change and I moved my big female to the “time out” section of the sump. So she won’t hurt and harass him for now.
Besides doing more water changes to get my nitrates down, should I add salt?

Looking it up it seems epsome salt or regular salt are suggested. Is either one better then the other?
I’m hesitant to do any other med. mostly because I can’t get to a store today and I’ll be snowed in by tomorrow. And that makes ordering anything a problem as well.
Though I do have some meds on hand. So maybe if something else is suggested I’ll be lucky enough to already have it.

I’ll update on Wednesday. Hopefully with good news.
I love my big female Greenie, but I’m starting to wonder if rehoming her will be necessary.

I agree with Ron, throw as much fresh water at that tank as possible, and a bit of salt if you feel like it. (kosher salt) Your fish should bounce back in no time at all.

Today I think it looks about the same. So no worse at least, but no noticeable improvement. I’ll do another fin level wc tomorrow and update with comparison pictures. I hope to see at least slight improvement.

Yeah. Between the angle and lighting being different I really can’t tell either.
I think *maybe* the swelling at the base of the eye has gone down slightly. But not positive. I agree it doesn’t look any worse, and that does make me happy.
The scratches on his head aren’t healed up yet either. So maybe I’m just being too impatient and he just needs more time.
