ID please

I still have difficulty ID'ing these guys. Almost everything is an Ocell around here but the spangles on his dorsal threw me off...

Its a monoculas you can tell buy its face to me at least ocellaris look mean lol.the bars on a ocellaris reach the dorsal fins yours look like its about 3-4 inches ill show you mine so you can compare the first two pics are ocellaris the last one is ocellaris and monoculas the ocellaris is on the left and the monoculas on the right notice the perfect shaped bars and red eyes (they come and go)on the ocellaris

Sorry the second pic was of my old fish its a glitch. in the last pic the monoculas have a spot still or short bars but the ocellaris have lonnger bars reaching up and down its body.

Funny they look exactly like my ocellaris did at that size and exactly like my ocellaris fry do. Monos and ocells have the same shape head so I don’t know where you got that one from. Not all ocellaris will have red eyes.

Not really some mono's tend to have a pointed lower jaw ocellaris may have it to but not like mono's and your right like i said the red eyes come and go.now the first pic are true ocellaris look at the head and the second has mono's look at the head sorry its the only one I can find but if you have pictures of your ocellaris or mono's we can compare :grinyes:

Those are some nice brokos you posted. My Adult Ocellaris are 16” and show gold/green coloring. The second picture is their fry at 3” markings still to come in. If you look at the ID thread pinned in this forum you can see all the different ocellaris in the different catch locations.
