1-2 Fish for a 29 Gallon Tank

I am looking for 1-2 fish that can live in my 29-gallon for its whole life. They don't need to be the same species.
Please note I said 1 or 2, I'm not looking for a school. They shouldn't be teeny little fish, looking for something good sized.
Needs to be relatively easy to keep, easy to find, and is less than $20.
The filter is an Aquaclear 70 so there will be decent flow.
NO SUBSTRATE and minimal/no decorations.

Some things I have thought of (not sure if all are suitable in my tank):

Option 1: One Firemouth Cichlid
Option 2: One Fancy Goldfish
Option 3: One Peacock Spiny Eel
Option 4: One Convict Cichlid

Any other options you can think of? Thanks

How about a pair of rainbow cichlids, I have a pair in a 29 and they’re very fun to watch. Big cichlid personality in a small package. ( I was rescaping when I took this)
Shell dweller cichlids would also be very cool in a 29

Can do a puffer. Like a pea puffer, would have to do 3+ for a few of them. Could also do Gouramis.

Could even do a little bit larger puffer like a type of red eye.

There’s nothing wrong with a pearl or blue gourami in a 29.

I’m going to go out on a limb and go against the goldfish idea. I have 3 black moors in a 55 and while the length is perfect for the size they are I do not feel that a mere 12” width is appropriate, at least an 18” is what I’d say is what should be given to goldfish

I think a fancy goldfish could work. Just a fantail, ranchu, or oranda. Not a rhyunkin or long body like comet. Most people would be lucky to get one of those fish over 6 inches long...I’m not saying it can’t or won’t happen bc I had a 9 inch fantail. But I also had two 5 inch fantails that were not getting any bigger...might be worth a shot if the OP can stay on top of water changes...though they are messy fish and it was a lot of work for me with 3 in a 60g...that’s actually why I re-homed them bc I couldn’t keep up with the maintenance.
I did also like your blue gourami suggestion but I was more focused on the OPs of minimal deco and no substrate. Hence my goldfish suggestion.

ive got a goldfish with some bristlenose in a 29. fun to watch and very owner interactive. tank is bare bottom with some sticks and java fern and water sprite. fish is abiut 6 " without the tail
