Con Solo the Convict

Decided to make a separate thread for my convict rather than continuing to update on the old thread. To quickly sum up the old thread, I wanted a mini “wet pet” like fish for my 29. There was a lot of great suggestions, decided to go to with a regular ol’ convict. Anywho, turned on the lights today to see yet another massive crater in the sand. The day before I turned on the lights to see all the leaves on the plants covered in sand. Probably not a big deal to most but it’s the little funny things like this that just put a smile on my face. This is his favorite spot in the tank by the way, right in corner where he can watch everyone walk by.

This little guy is really starting to turn into the mini wet pet I was looking for after just having him for about 6 ish weeks. He greets me when I walk up to the tank, begs for his food, and he’s even developed some quirks. Like having to put sand on the plant leaves no matter how many times I knock it off. Can’t wait to see how he is a few months down the line.

Con Solo’s fins are now almost reddish-pink in coloration. His colors just keep getting better! I also added a few river stones to the tank because I thought the front of the aquarium seemed kind of bare. I originally bought about 8 or 9 rocks thinking it would be enough but I think I can probably add a little more.

He’s gorgeous and chubby……I had a few at one time (much smaller) and they were vicious towards anything else in the tank…I ended up having to put them in their own.
