Sometimes, I'm going backwards

I look at my old self and can't help but wonder what the hell I was thinking back then.

If you don't find yourself in this predicament over and over throughout life...then you're just growing older, not smarter. "What the hell was I thinking?" is something I have considered having as a tattoo on the inside of my eyelids. :)

At least you had the presence of mind to document that beautiful tank with photos before tearing it down. :)

Don't think of it as going backwards; you're just idling by the side of the road for a bit, waiting for a break in traffic.

There's an old saying, "you don't realise what you've got until it's gone".

You might not have thought it was a bad decision at the time you tore it down, but looking back at old pictures of it, and how great it looks, I can see why you've got regrets. Even more so given that your attempts to replicate it aren't looking so rosy.

I've only one thing to say really...."what the hell were you thinking tearing that beautiful tank up!" Lol.

That tank in the 1st pic sure is beautiful .
I've done the same thing though, got an impulse to experiment, and at times regretted it in the end.
Put the wrong species together, and caused chaos.
Did it not long ago, caught a big goby, put it in my main tank, and it killed almost everything in the tank .
It is now sequestered until I can get to and return it to its original river.

It's a balance.
The fish are small. The plants are small.
The Master's in control.
Everything's going along great.
They're growing, growing up.
It's a thin line, increasingly taut.
Plants vs fish.
Without interventions, the plants win. They win every time.
It just takes time.
Soon, fish are squeezed nearly out and drastic measures must take place.
The Master is mastered again.
