As the title suggested, what are the chances of arapaima and African arowana jumping out compared to silver and Asian arowana?

The chance is even, but the difference is that you need 3 people to carry the arapaima back to the tank.

It’s no joke as it has actually happened to a local fish store near me. The store built a huge tank behind a wall to house a huge arapaima. One day the fish broke open the wall and jumped out. It took 3 people to carry the fish back to the tank.

Arapaima and arowana belong to the same family of bony tongue fish. They are big jumper and will push over tank cover or break wall to jump out whenever opportunity is available. Fortunately, they are air breather and can survive out of water for many hours waiting for rescue.

Oh? And here I thought African Arowana wouldn't be a jumping maniac. And yeah, arapaima is just superior to arowana in terms of air breathing. (If only arowana could breathe air as efficiently as arapaima, that would be a god's blessing to any fish keepers that keep them.)
