I'm fairly new to keeping large cichlids and have looked up how to sex them and have read just about all the other threads on sexing green terrors. I can't for the life of me tell what sex these two are the first one is around 3 inches and the second one is maybe 2 inches. Thanks for the help!

You need to add an “unknown” option on your poll since, in the absence of pics, it is impossible for us to tell 🤷🏻‍♂️

Green terrors are fairly easy to tell them apart. The males will have bright shiny markings in the unpaired fins.
Here is a male as an example.

See the blue markings in the dorsal, tail, and anal fin.

Here is a female

Notice how there is no blue markings in the fins. Also key is Notice the slope of the forehead. In males it's nearly flat. And in the female you see a nice gental slope.

This lacking of markings can be an indicator for a female but there are often females that have a lot of markings.
This one laid eggs (sorry for the dark picture)

In both my experiences with a breeding pair, the female would get very dark in comparison to the male. Agree it is fairly easy to tell when they are closer to adulthood. I have a young GT as well (shown in a different thread) that I though was a female at first, then started to think male, now I'm back to being completely unsure based on the above post from Milingu Milingu

I can post some pics from my past breeding pairs later this afternoon for examples.
