Hello, i need some help/advice on what to choose and compatibility with other fishes.

I'm thinking about getting either a fire eel or tiger moray eel as the big fish of my 126 gallon setup that i'm currently doing. I just don't know which one to choose honestly, internet seem to be good for the fire eel care and etc. The freshwater tiger moray eel however seem to be very fragmented and not reliable.

With that I don't know the pro and con of them both to be fair especially with fish compatibility like which one could go with what fishes.

It’s pretty similar with gymothorax polyuranodon. As long as it can’t swallow a fish, they tend to leave them alone. They were more fun to keep and were easier to feed too than fire eels.

It might be a good idea to start thinking about what other fish you want to house them with, it could make the choice a lot easier.

Also it might be worth it to wait for the exact species you want, just saying.

I'm thinking about a bichir with 1-3 rope fishes but yeah, waiting is a good idea especially when i have the time. I will just add snails until something i want pop up.

I need something for the top but I have no idea what to put there since most of my choice are bottom dwellers.

I keep both

The moray which I assume is Gymnothorax Polyurandon is a nightmare to keep in the tank. They are great escape artists, very reclusive and shy and the one I have had for 3 years I rarely see it lives in the sump as it wont stay in the tank. I wouldn't ever get one again personally

Fire eels are ace I have kept them for years. My current one is 20" and very fat. Constantly at the front of the tank and visible, hand feeds and just looks cool.

As long as you have a big enough tank I would recomend a fire eel all day long as they are such cool fish to keep

Bichirs I have stopped keeping as they can't seem to help their predatory instincts despite being well fed. I have large clown loaches and the bichirs tried to eat them from time to time so i moved the bichirs on
