Now that I just looked at the aro closely while doing a water change he definitely grew this week he’s at least 3.5”

I was thinking the other way around, I would have thought the aro would outgrow the bass in no time flat

Okay so I posted last week I picked up a small maybe 2.5” jar at most, he’s currently in quarantine and doing great. What size should he be before I introduce him in with my 6-7” peacock bass? They will not be permanate tank mates, just temporary until the jar hits his “kill everything” size...

Monster usually has them, I grabbed one from there, but I haven’t had the best luck with fish from there. The only fish I bought at monster aquarium that has survived is my orino peacock bass. I bought a silver there and it grew to about 18” from November until 2 weeks ago and then one morning...

He’s probably 1”-1.25” so I’m HOPING it’s not stunted.

Now that I have him under incandescent lighting he still looks green, but I can see the Jardini in him now. I think the lighting at the store played a big role in his coloring. Still doesn’t look like your run of the mill Jardini but it’s definitely a JAR lol

I never buy anything from petco, but this Jardini they had looked pretty good, this is the same petco I USED to buy saltwater fish from 8-10 years ago when I was big into the salty side of things. All we can do is see what happens at this point !

I got him from petco for $20, but I was there 2 hours earlier and there were a few of them and when I went back(to pick up a Jardini aro) 2 hours later there were only 2 puffers left. So I’m just hoping they haven’t had them long.

Okay thank god, I didnt realize there was a smaller subspecies until I got him home, would have been pretty upset if he only got 3”

He’s a petco fish.... so they’re labels are not very trustworthy
