I think I know the answer to this but want to see if anyones done it. Has anyone kept rainbow shiners and shrimp in the same tank? My gut tells me they’ll eventually eat the shrimp.

Still have my one Silurus from Wes as well. Looking at yours they definitely have different eyes and look different the larger they grew. Mines pretty much stopped growing at around 18-20". I do believe it to be a Meridionalis but its tough to find a lot of info on them.

Never honestly thought it’d be an “issue”. I was worried I was going to run into a housing issue but doesn’t look that way unless a crazy growth spurt occurs.

Recent update. Nothing really new. I haven't noted and growth length wise but he seems to be packing on some weight. Minute I brought him home I finished sealing the lid for fear of him ju,ping. So far he's been doing well and minds his own business at the top. I've had him a touch over two weeks and have already noted visible growth on him. He's still taking both pellets and freeze dried krill.

Think I got very lucky a little over a week and he’s eating Hikari Sticks. Other then that he’s in a growout with 3 dats so far no aggression and both species keep their distance.
