    new red devil question

I would love to have a 126, I'll be doing well to get a 75. I'm starting on disability and don't think a 125 will be in my budget... If I did have a 125, I would have a dovii or a p. splendida.

    new red devil question

sounds good to me. Mine stays in the plants. I'll try tomorrow to chase him out of the plants for some pictures. That's a nice looking group, BTW. You must have a larger tank than I have. I'll consider going up to a 75, depending on how this one does.

    new red devil question

where I live, 75 gallon tanks are only available from a few stores. That makes them a bit pricey, but worth the investment. It was out tonight hanging out in a far corner of the tank. I don't care what particular species or hybrid it may be. It is just a species I haven't had before and decided...

    new red devil question

Guess I'll just have to see what the little one grows up to be. I'm sure that the mature fish is going to be worth waiting for. I like to see the juvies grow and the changes that they go through as they grow.

    new red devil question

It watches me through the plants, I drop food close to it, but I haven't seen it eat this morning. This wouldn't be my first hybrid. I had a jaguar/dovii hybrid that was about 14 inches. I'll give it time to get used to me and my cats. They like to watch the tank. I have a 75 gallon stand, but...

    new red devil question

Hello everyone, I've been gone for quite a while, but am getting back into this. I just got a "red devil", or at least it was sold as a red devil. I understand from reading other post that it may be a hybrid. It is about 2 inches long and very shy at the moment. It hides in the plants and I...

    Electric Blue Acaras

Last Friday, I bought 2 EBA's. I really hope they are a pair. I'm not going to get anymore of them, just grow mine out to full size. With them, I have 2 pink kissers, 6 zebra danios(soon to be snacks, I already know), 2 platys, 5 cories, a albino bn pleco, and a Raphael cat I haven't seen since...

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

Thank You! Petsmart. I saw them and had to have them. They were the last 2 and just 2 pretty to pass up. Now that they are not as skittish, I see them out more...

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

I didn't lose anyone. My fish survived just fine. All are out and active this morning. Saw them out and eating for the first time yesterday. The smaller EBA has staked out a cave on one side. Behind the largest ornament is neutral territory where both kissers and EBA's hang out together. The...

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

I called and found out the power is back on. I'm lucky that it is. One of my co-workers won't have power for 2 days. I have a couple of those little personal fans now. I think one has a clip to hold on to edge. I'll keep that close with the rest of my aquarium stuff. You know, all the things we...

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

Just so I know, what is the correct thing I should do with the sponge filter in case of power outages? I was following instructions off an internet article when I put the sponge in the bag. This is the first time I have used a sponge filter, it has only been in use for 4 or 5 days. My battery...

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

I'm at work, or I would try pouring water manually. Hopefully power should be back on when I get home.

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

The sponge is in a zip lock bag floating in tank. I researched info about sponge filter before getting one. Size is meant for a 75, but with cichlids, no such thing as too much filtration. Also I might get a 75 one day and the sponge would help get it started.

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

yes, they were the only 2 there. Just couldn't pass them up. A 55 should be big enough for a spawning pair, if they are a pair. I just hope the power outage didn't hurt them. I have 2 Aqueon 75's, a sponge filter (removed temp.) and an additional airstone. Water was heavily aerated previous...

Probably too young to sex, I hope they are a pair.

    My new Electric Blue Acaras

Finally did it. Bought 2 EBA's for my 55. They are living with 2 pink kissers, 6 zebra danios, 2 platy's, and assorted cories and a pleco. Also a very seldom seen Raphael cat. At least I think it's still there... The EBA's are shy and hide behind a large ornament frequently, but they are...

Raising a EBJD and Oscar together? Growth rates, bad idea?

Just keep an eye on the Oscar as he grows and good luck with ebjd. Hope he does well for you. I have 3 skunk corys, will probably get a few more. I have another cat, but is a Raphael and vanished as soon as he was released. I've seen a flip of his tail and that's all. I refer to the Raphael as...
