Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the local Alaska State Troopers take this kind of stuff pretty serious. I doubt you would get shot, but if caught you would be in for a hefty fine! If it wasnt for that I would be keeping Burbot and Pike right now lol.

You may loose some GPH (Gallons per hour) of your water turn over but shouldn't be much. If your only adding a couple feet and its inside the tank, shouldn't cause any problems. You should be fine. I know some people who built their own filtration systems and did just what your talking about...

Unfortunately she didn't make it. I moved the male back with the other 4 and hoping he will pair with another female. I ended up loosing one to aggression (the group killed him, pretty brutal) and then lost that female so I am down to 7 total. So if the male pairs up with another female I will...

Thats pretty much what I feed my fish is all Omega1. I feed my Midas and Oscar Omega1 Cichlid Pellets, and then I feed my Carpintis a mix of Omega1 Super Veggie Pellets and Omega1 Super Color Pellets. Up here in Alaska its about the best thing we can find locally without ordering out of state...

I wish my Carpintis were like that lol. They all act like little scaredy cats if you walk up to the tank real fast. They are getting better but by no means are glass bangers at all yet, maybe some day.

Ya, I had two pairs in a 75 divided but the female in the pair I first posted is sick (bloat or Dropsy I think) so she is in a tank by herself now but the male is still in the divided tank. Both males are always swimming by trying to act all full of themselves through the divider lol.
