    Shiny Algae ID

Thanks so much, maybe I'll do a round of Chemiclean this time and see how it looks before going the rid-x route. Maybe I'm a sucker, but I'd rather use something specifically manufactured for aquarium use. I have some on order, will post results

    Shiny Algae ID

Is this Cyanobacteria? I was searching past threads where someone had suggested trying Rid-X a while back, I must’ve forgotten about it. Anyone using Rid-x these days?

    Shiny Algae ID

Hello, I wanted to see if anyone recognized this particular type of fast-growing algae and could help me get rid of it. I don’t mind a bit of algae on driftwood and the Sides of the tank, but this stuff is so fast spreading and it’s all over everything. Sometimes it traps huge air bubbles...

    Chancho Growth Update (with Pics)

Thanks so much! Honestly, I’ve tried to feed him a variety of foods but he will only eat Omega One sinking pellets and frozen bloodworms. He eats and eats and eats but it very particular. Congrats on your pick up, Post pictures when you get them!! Thank you again ?

    Chancho Growth Update (with Pics)

They do have a great personality! I would just say you may consider the 125 as a temp home because they will get 18” + and that’s the width of the (standard 125) aquarium , though, I’ve had mine for going on 3 years and he is 14” so you’d have some time. I think Andy Woods’ Chancho “Tank” is 16+...

    Chancho Growth Update (with Pics)

No, I had suspected as much but wasn’t sure. Again, I got it from Ken on aquabid…his ad says: “F6 Red Chancho, red females are back cross to pure male chancho each generation to increase the chancho blood, current generation is 99% chancho blood and still fade. These get huge. Bidding on a 3.5...

    Chancho Growth Update (with Pics)

Thanks @Deadeye Yep, right about 13", I'm noticing he's growing very thick as well. If they end up having a successful spawn and I learn how to ship fish, maybe I can send you a few shipping only :)

    Chancho Growth Update (with Pics)

Hi guys, Thought I'd drop in to give you an update on the Chancho...He's doing really well, very personable! A bit aggressive, but I knew that going in. Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago I got him a lady friend from Ken Davis, some red variety, and she laid eggs this morning! I'll have to...

Bump on Tail - Looks like Pimple - Maybe Lymphocystis?

Thanks @Deadeye anything that can be done? It’s pretty unsightly. I just don’t want it to be a parasite and start moving headwards.

Bump on Tail - Looks like Pimple - Maybe Lymphocystis?

Hi guys, This bump has been on my Chancho’s tail for well over a year. I do 50% weekly, don’t overfeed, and haven’t had any issues with water or fish since the two years it’s been cycled. Because of these factors, I hesitate to say that it’s Lymphocystis as folks on other threads say Lymph...
