    I have actually had a snail get trapped in an overflow once. It dumped 10 gallons of water on the floor before my wife unplugged it. haha. Just make sure theres a screen on the overflow and you will be ok.

    Yes, I've seen this frequently with clowns. They are protecting their territory. I had a pair that was so aggressive that it was almost impossible to clean the tank.

    How old is they setup now? Most liverock will experience some die off when the rock is removed from the old tank and transported to the new. That die off is sponges and various inverts which results in an ammonia spike. Sometimes these can last for months. I would suggest doing weekly water...

    I wouldn't use any canister filter for a reef tank. Most people use a sump with liverock. Or they have a FOWL which is a tank with liverock in the display as well as live sand.

    I agree. With a reef tank I have seen lots of fish and corals in a relatively small aquarium. The secret is to have good bio and mechanical filtration. If you aren't using a skimmer then I would do weekly water changes and keep up on the water prams.

    I agree buy a Refractometer from www.marinedepot.com or similar. Make sure you calibrate it frequently. It will treat you good if you take care of it. I'm still using my first refract from 2003.
