parachromis motaguense (RTM), Xiloaensis, Wild Amphilophus - Hopkinton, MA, PU only

Mota is 14" male. I also have a female but they have not bred yet: The person who gave it to me got it from Rapps. I also have other fish: Xiloaensis (Ken Davis), Red Terror (Rapps) All are FREE! We are moving and can not take them.

parachromis motaguense (Red Tiger Mota) -- Boston MA -- PU only

I have a very large (and aggressive!) male available for sale. Its probably 12-14" but I have not measured it (just eyeballing). Its super aggressive with other fish but calm with people. Very nice patterns. I got it from someone who bought it from Jeff Rapps. Will post pics in the evening...

Amarillo and Rio Mag Pair 4/8/2014

Awesome male! These and chanchos are so beautiful, its a shame lesser and lesser hobbyists keep them. Their attitude/personality is second to none, in my opinion.

Are you sure there is no spawning? The bars look awefully dark to me :) These are turning out very nice indeed.

    F3 Nicaraguan Blue Dovii

Wow nice male! Are those torn fins in first pic due to the Dovii male?

Still Can't Beat a RIO MAG!!! POST YOUR PICS!!

I think this thread is getting off topic real fast. Can we stop with the p*ssing contest and just enjoy the OP's and other fish pics posted here? All the chatter probably is better placed in another thread.

Still Can't Beat a RIO MAG!!! POST YOUR PICS!!

Very nice pics. and an awesome fish (OP). To all (long-term) owners of Umbees: you guys are lucky to have the tank space needed to keep such a wonderful fish. Someday I hope to get a tank large enough to keep one, and possibly with other parachromis and amphilophus.

    "Dos Equis Pair" Progression thread

He seems to be gaining much color as he progresses through this thread. Good luck with him. You are fortunate to have the space to raise these fish.

    Juvenile RTM pics?

They look awfully colorless for Red Tigers. Are you sure they really are?

New female Amerillo for my male

Very nice pair. I hope he is gentle with her, she looks quite small :)

    WC Amphilophus amarillos progression thread

Are you sure? I am yet to see Amarillo "loose" their bar patterns. They are always the barred ones with yellow throat/body on male, when breeding. Hence the name.

    WC Amphilophus amarillos progression thread

I attempted the Amarillos and Chanchos a few years ago, when I got some from Mack Regan. I have always had bad luck with them, and I ended up with only females. A male chanho or amarillo is a sight. The yellow in amarillo will only get better with age. I am going to have to be happy with the...

    WC Amphilophus amarillos progression thread

Didn't know he was offering these, though I regularly check there. I would be curious to see how they grow up, and how their colors show up as they mature. Too bad you are in CA, I would have been interested in some "rejects" once you decided the ones you wanted to keep!

That Myersi is looking quite nice. And love the festae too.

    Amphilophus Xiloaensis male

That is a good observation! I think they somehow "loose" the characteristic that makes them peel off later in their life. For the longest time this fish was barred, and I had given up on him turning at all. I don't know if adding the female triggers the change of coloration, his color however...
