you need to edit this post because it's not entirely true, ESPECIALLY the BIG WORDS THAT ARE IN BOLD. For educational and research purposes, THEY ARE LEGAL.

Are micro-chipped/certified Asian arowanas OK in the US?

they may be illegal, but not hard at all to find and buy one. A few years ago I visited NYC and strolled through chinatown. I ran into a LFS that had quite a few asian aros (red, green, rtg, panda, gold, xback) in plain view inside the store. Price for a ~4" specimen $4500.

    Auratus Cichlid

If there's enough fish and space the auratus should be fine. My black male is aggressive but is not the dominant fish. My cichlid tank is actually dominated by peacocks (go figure), then kenyii, and then hongis.

Big Boy IN 125 Gallon Tank

Awesome ! Looks just like my setup except mine is a bare tank, no decor or substrate, and the oscar shares the tank with a common pleco.

    Amphilophs tank

In my larger tanks of the same or larger I catch fish during a water change. My water changes are 'fin level', that is I drain until it reaches the dorsal fin. MUCH easier to catch the little boogers that way.

    Silver arowana advice needed

Not in any manner. I was simply relaying what I witnessed with ONE specimen. With written words oftentimes things come off the wrong way. Cheers

    Catfish with Royal knife

The cories and loaches were in there first, the ck was tiny when first introduced, not much bigger than the loaches and was intimated by the activity of the clown loaches. Now that it's 18+" the loaches don't bother it much :) . For some weird reason the bichirs keep pecking at the ck's eyes...

    Catfish with Royal knife

My 18" clown knife doesn't touch the cories or clown loaches in their with it, only eats Hikari sticks. It has never been fed live food.

    Silver arowana advice needed

Way back when I had a silver that did the same thing to a black. The black wasn't ripped in half from the initial strike, but from the violent head thrashing afterwards. That same silver aro lived in a tank full of cichlids and other fish it could have easily eaten but never did.

    Question on compatibility

My 2' redtail ate my 2' silver aro. My plecos don't bother my bichirs or clown knife. If your Asian is like my jardini, the gar will be dead in 5 mins. I'd go with a mammon.

    Intermediate bass fishing advice?

Everyone will have their preference in baitcasters, I've been using Calcuttas for fresh and saltwater deep sea trips for almost 30 years. They're not bad for casting a 1/8 ounce lure into the wind either :)
