Who has the largest gar in a home aquarium?

This is the best I got for up to date pictures I’m sorry it took so long to post it. I also have no sense of scale for him but his pond is about 4 feet deep and he’s sitting on bottom. If I’m also being 100% honest with myself and everyone here he is probably a few inches shy of the 48 inch mark...

The water temp sits right around 68. I might do a chiller if the summer is to hot but as of right now seems to be holding well

300 gallon native hill stream tank

Not in any tank for the little fish. I may keep them when I get a more permanent and larger tank (10,000 plus) for my gar it would be cool to have them with some big catfish and my alligator gar but until then I have no plans on getting more monsters until the end tank is built. I have enough to...

300 gallon native hill stream tank

They would be long lived feeders. he is pretty lazy for a snapper though so he will normally let them live until he is board of his pellets and frozen thawed food which is like a year or more in some lucky fish cases. I had a Jack Dempsey in his tank when he was only 8 pounds ( he is 27 now) and...

300 gallon native hill stream tank

It is viewable by 3 sides the filter intake on the left is the only side you can't see it from. I've been playing with the flow a bit (and will continue to do so for years probably lol) and I may go with an open return but as I add fish I will change it around to get them to swim in more or less...

300 gallon native hill stream tank

You got it more or less pluming for the filter is under the tank and the Jebao return pump is for flow and it runs pluming in the rim of the top of the tank. The filter pad on the side there is to hide pluming and I plan on growing moss there as well.

300 gallon native hill stream tank

I'm in Minnesota I am planing on making a trip out that direction for red fin shiners and some other species in the rock river. That being said I don't plan on leaving the state myself because I don't want to break any local laws I don't know and native minnows can be a touchy subject. I know my...

300 gallon native hill stream tank

I think I am using a linear flow system. The pump for the spray bar is on the other end of the tank Behind the sponge on the left side along with the intake for the filter I also plan to add more larger wave makers to increase flow.

300 gallon native hill stream tank

I got them for free for helping a friend of mine close and move his reptile shop. That is an 8 foot tank the log is just over 6 foot and dry it was like 150 lbs it sucked to get it in but that's the problem with having big wood?

Glass conference table for plywood aquarium?

Hello DIY monster keepers. I was wondering if you could use the glass from a glass conference table for a aquarium viewing panel? I found a glass conference table on Cragslist that has a clear glass panel that was 14 feet long by 43 inches wide and 19mm thick the glass. The table was being sold...

Tank is too big for the gecko?? or not

I don't think it would be that bad for an adult but i wouldn't put a baby in that. I kept 3 females together In a 40 breeder. leopards can be quite social well at least the females can but the males can be jerks to each other. you could always keep a male and 2 or 3 females as long as you watch...
