    My Thorichthys Aureus tank

Just in case anyone was curious how these guys are doing. They got moved into my outdoor pond due to the tank failing. And now they’re all convinced they’re Africans. But doing well. It’s hard to get good pictures of them so forgive the poor quality.

    Help aquascaping.

Ok, so more pics. Cloudy water due to me stirring it up. But I re-arranged abit. Had some one remind me to make sure I can get my hand in between all the rock and the glass for cleaning too. That was a smart move. If you look at the top down picture @Deadeye I tried to take your advice into...

    Help aquascaping.

Hey guys, I’m setting up a 34 gallon AIO And I’m just playing around with the aquascaping. This is going to be a reef tank, probably mostly lps but I might get some easier to care for sps. But I’m just trying to plan for the future. Any input would be appreciated! I’ll add more pics later, one...

Why is my oscar not growing..

Everyone’s made solid posts and given good information. Really the only thing I have to add. Is it’s a baby still. I feel like people don’t realize how long a Healthy Oscar can live. For example, both of my Oscars are over 10 years old. One well over. Give him time, and good water conditions...

    Umbee type/sexing help

No, sadly I had repeated seal problems on my big tank. And eventually had to give up my two remaining umbee’s to a friend with large tanks. I have a large outdoor pond, and a 180 with a pair of very very old oscars and a Severum. But that’s it for me right now.

    Big Mutt

They definitely grow them over time. Maybe not as big as some of the south’s and central’s. But plenty of the guys in my pond have little humps.

    Big Mutt

Yeah, he measured just short of 9inches. I’m sure he is a hybrid. There is probably 200 or so different Africans in there, all peacocks and mbuna. I’d say a lot of the bigger ones have a small hump. Could be just from the mixed breeding. I started with about 25 or 30 from a large tank. And over...

    Big Mutt

I have a large outdoor pond stocked with an assortment of Africans, and koi. Usually I can only appreciate them from the top view. But every once in a while, I lose one. Don’t know why, but it really brings perspective to their size. Found this guy today. Just figured I’d share. Always forget...

Please HELP! Needing to move fish!

Sounds good, I raised my Oscars for a while in a 55, then a 75, then a 125, now finally in a 180. So I get it. Not everyone can start with a huge tank. Sounds like your a concerned and attentive keeper so that’s the biggest thing Goodluck

Please HELP! Needing to move fish!

Moves are always stressful, can it be done? Sure, but they’re always risks. Moving from one tank to another in home is a minor risk though. The water is the same, temp is the same. Keep the lights off and keep the handling of the fish to a minimum and it should be fine. On the other hand...
