360 Gallon Water Dragon & Basilisk Paludarium

Hey MFK, been a while! After selling all of my fish and aquariums, I've had the funds and time to shift focus to something more apartment friendly. I've always been a herper alongside an aquarist and decided to go full beast mode on my paludarium since it's the only enclosure I'll be keeping for...

    850 gallon aquarium -$4,500-

I can get some later when I'm home. The best way to describe it is that the four corners of the acrylic walls themselves are triangle sealed off with thin blue acrylic strips. I'm guessing the intent was to be extra heavy duty and keep any water pressure from being directly on the seams.

    850 gallon aquarium -$4,500-

Yeah me too lol. I guess people are just intimidated by such a large commitment around here.

    850 gallon aquarium -$4,500-

I'm considering selling off my tank due to an opportunity to move to Seattle next spring. I'll be heading into an apartment so I obviously couldn't be running this system there. Most all of the livestock pictured is gone aside from the pacu, but I'll probably still hold on to him inside of an...

    850 gallon monster tank build

I've actually considered adding a large eel. If I could find a larger sized one that I wouldn't have to grow out, I'd definitely add it in.

FS | Trio of peacock bass. Azul, Kelberi and Orino. | $350 | Naugatuck Ct / Bronx NY | Pickup

I'd imagine so. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't monster aquarium an LFS based out of NY? I know they ship large fish so maybe dropping by for info about it could be beneficial. If not, I totally understand not wanting to go the shipping route. Either way, GLWS!

    850 gallon monster tank build

The tank is running well. Despite my best efforts, I still underestimated these beasts as they've managed to bust a few of the edges on the background. I've bought around 1,000 nylon screws and have been attaching artificial moss into the damaged areas for now. I'll definitely use more epoxy...

    Abyssalisk's Cichla

Got some new Cichla today from Jeff Rapps! I was cruising around on Instagram and noticed @UnstoppableJayD 's stunning group of Orino's. I decided it was time for me to try ordering some new fish again lol. So I set up my little 150 gal that's been in storage and pulled the trigger. I got 4 Rio...

    Dream displays?

40' x 8' x 8' paludarium with rays, aros, and schools of cichla in the water. The land would have water dragons, basilisks, and sailfin dragons. Turtles would be splashed in as well. Decor would be amazon style with ledges, cliffs, waterfalls, trees, etc.

15,000 gallon shipping container aquarium idea

I actually haven't seen that build. I'll check it out! I know that I want a deeper tank so it can have a paludarium look. Here's an example This is why I'm fine with not filling the container with 8ft of water. It'd be easier, more structurally stable, and more beautiful in my opinion having...

15,000 gallon shipping container aquarium idea

I also had thought about how cutting into the container would compromise it's integrity. I was blown away by how @arapaimag 's build has held up so much pressure with his viewing windows being 1" glass. I'm a wood worker so I'm not going to pretend that I know the strengths of metal. I'd...

    Abyssalisk's Cichla

I'm in Utah. Thanks for the identification! They were sold to me as Bahias but once they got bigger I was confused haha. I'm really happy with how they came out. :D

15,000 gallon shipping container aquarium idea

The 40ft containers in my area average around 3.2k. If you look at my drawing on the first page you'll see that it has 10 full 4x8 viewing panels. I was quoted around 3k per panel so there's 30k right there. Yes, it would be way cheaper if I just had two panels and only did it on a 20 footer but...

    Abyssalisk's Cichla

Yup! The tank sits 36" above the ground. The filtration is comprised of 6 40ish gallon brutes. All of the details are on my other thread :D https://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/850-gallon-monster-tank-build.677165/
