I live in Canada Ontario and just found a small lizard in my room?!?!?

I need help. I was vacuuming my carpet and found a small lizard running around. We don't have lizards!! I caught him and he is sleeping right now but looks pretty thin. I put a small cap of water and some natural scraping material in a container for now. He can just but very low. He...

    Hoplias HITH

Unless you did a 100% water change before testing I don't see how 5ppm is possible. I been keeping water for a number a years and this just doesn't happen with that much fish in a small tank Your test kit is off by a lot.

What's your water change schedule like? I find 8t very difficult to believe your at 20 ppm nitrates with that bioload in a 90g. Unless your doing massive water changes multiple times a weeks or your not feeding your fish properly. A 9 inch Oscar alone eating well in a 90g will make that...

    Mystery "parasites?"

My guess is that it's still a care issue and not an internal parasite.

    Mystery "parasites?"

The problem is that you have no idea what parasites if any that you have... You can't just does these 1 time and expect to work. Parasites have lifecycles and not all of them are the same. During certain phases of the lifecycle the parasite may be immune to medication. Levamisole is...

Growth rate vs max size potential

Speaking in general, is it safe to assume that a fish that is growing at a faster rate then what would be consider the normal, will end up being a larger fish? Is there a relationship between the two or is it completely seperate? I realize this is all anecdotal but I would still like to hear...

    Discus Overload!

Design the scape and lighting to replicate nature and the fish will definitely be happy. To me it's the equivalent of a padded white room with bright lights and nothing to interact with. Doesn't look appealing for the fish at all. https://images.app.goo.gl/muKR21MsbWwLF6sd8

    What's wrong with my texas?

How do you measure .3 nitrates?!!? Clearly he means nitrites and clearly the tank is in a mini cycle due to old tank syndrome or some sort of additive that has caused the cycle to get out of wack. Fix your water to fix your fish.

Fish you ignorantly put in a 10 gallon

I got in the hobby as an adult and did my research prior to buying anything. I never owned a tank smaller than a 40g. No stories to tell here. I would hope that with the internet that alot more of these stories will not happen going forward. Just too much information out there to do dumb...

Anyone tried painting a realistic background?

I am thinking about trying this and just wondering if it's been done before. Many store bought backgrounds that I see for sale are nowhere close to what I would consider a realistic underwater background. The just look like jungles or random picture of a reef. They don't apply to CA sa...

Cave dwelling cichlids and my festae is one of them....

I agree with other fish size would definitely matter but with my solo female it seems like alot of unused space. Interesting to see how in the wild with all that space fish still enjoy hanging out in caves.
