    Sick, newly adopted flower horn.

I rescued this flowerhorn locally and she looked very sick and ragged with a swollen belly. I put her in a hospital tank and treated with furan 2 and general cure. First it looked like she dropped her slime coat, since then a lot of milky looking slime been coming out of her which I haven't...

    Any keepers in western pa

I grew up in West Lawn, and I DO find it surprising that with as populated as it is there's pretty much NOTHING but chain pet stores there.

Looking better but won't eat: Texas w/duck lips columnaris

We moved the Texas with Duck Lip into a sterile bare bottom hospital tank and added 2tsp of salt per gallon and Furan 2 as well as getting the tank temp down close to 70 degrees and he started looking much better within hours. We are 42 hours into the Furan 2 and salt treatment and he looks...

Violet Dragon Goby with red sore on face.

It's looking better and less angry, it's seeming to have deflated as well. It is open on the bottom. I'm not seeing anything coming out though, so I've just been keeping the tank really clean. :) I'm keeping my finger crossed that'll heal on it's own!

    Seriously considering a Leporinus

I've had him now for several months, he's fit in great. He's a really great addition to the tank. I've had no issues. I put him in with my large Texas at first in a 75 (it was just the two of them) then I moved him into my 150, for no other reason than that it was a freshly set up tank and I...

Violet Dragon Goby with red sore on face.

Hey guys, when I turned on my tank light this morning, the larger of my two Dragon Gobys had a nasty looking red sore on his jaw. Can anyone tell me the proper protocol to help him? I've never had any issue with them and I've never had to medicate them either.

    Seriously considering a Leporinus

He went into my tank with only one fish in it. A 75 gallon with a foot long texas cichlid. :) They've been in there now for about ten hours. They've checked each other out, but otherwise seem unimpressed. They have caves on opposite side of the tank. SO, we shall see. He's goorgeous...

    Seriously considering a Leporinus

Heya fish lovers, I saw a 7 inch leporinus in my favorite LFS two days ago, and I fell in love! I've been doing some reading, found out that they can be fin nippers and rather nasty to their own species. The fish would be going in with my 8 inch platinum flowerhorn, a m/f pair of jds, a...

Picking the Ideal staple large Cichlid food

Hey Fish folks, I'm doing some research as to what everyone's feeding their large cichlids. I have a Flowerhorn, a pair of JD's, a pair of Oscars (not in the same tank) and a Jaguar. all are eating well and growing quickly, My question is this: What is the ideal staple food for them. I'm...

    Sick Tiger Oscar

He's not eaten as of yet, I put him into the big tank yesterday. He still seems listless and sort of drifts from a swim to falling to the bottom of the tank. I DO see a little bit of a white mark on his forehead above his eye. I haven't medicated with anything as of yet, except treating his...

    Sick Tiger Oscar

I think he's not really sick with anything, his fins are a tiny bit ragged. They said he just came in today. So that I just attributed to stress... I'm going to keep him in the hospital tank for a few more days JUST to make sure it's not a parasite. If it's fin rot I have the meds for that.

    Sick Tiger Oscar

Alrighty he's out of the bag and swimming around happily in his hospital tank. I've heard that Oscars sulk? Could I have lucked out and gotten a free, HEALTHY fish, that's just a drama queen? Best shot I could get, sorry about the cloudy water, he got all the sand stirred up.
