Try switching to tilapia for the main staple of your aros diet. I cut it up to small little cubes, about 1/8" or smaller, feed just enough to see a small bulge in the aros belly. Super worms and the like are a good treat, but not the best food for exclusive feeding. A varied diet is best, see...

No, not a good idea. I feed my young aros 4 times a day!! It's one of the fastest growing fish, and they need a steady supply of food to develop. After your aro is 24" or so you can skip a day between feeding with no harm.

I would recommend waiting until you have more than one large tank. It's rare for two aros to get along. Usually one will bully the other relentlessly. You will need to be able to seperate the fish if they fight.

I'd say that's subjective. It really depends on how available rays are in your area to whether its a good deal or not. It's certainly not an outrageous price, but not a steal either...

There's really no way of telling. They look like BD's to me, and nice ones at that. If the price is right don't hesitate. They are nice looking rays by anyone's standards.

With the amount of waste rays produce, I'd skip the sponge for sure. You'll be changing filter floss daily... I use socks. Keep one ready to go, change the dirty one and toss in washing machine with a little bleach. Real easy!

This is my 4th arowana, only grew one to adult size. He was stung by one of my rays and never recovered. Stopped eating and died three months later. Was 26 inches.
