    Radiant Tank Heating?

The only other thing that you may want to check is the method that the mat uses to heat. Some electric heating elements i have seen are set to heat up at full bore in waves to keep temp, if this happens you may melt the foam insulation. Try it out but if you smell something funny turn it off =)

you can theoretically use an Inkbird 308 or similar controller to run this. It would give you a temp probe for the water.

    Heating Drip System

You can but it's really not feasable. If you drip 4 gallons of 85F into a 40 gallon tank at 75F per day(~50% WC per week), the tank will end each day with a .91F increase. If you bump the same 4 gallons to 100F the temp change goes up to 2.27F, keep in mind that niether of these include loss of...

    Heating Drip System

I have the same problem as you, my solution (might be a bit excessive but you dont need to go as far as I intend to). Buy a 6kw(can be any size but this made sense for me) tankless hotwater heater which has temp adjustment down to 80F run the cold water line to there, from the heater run to a...

If you do not have the tanks yet you could consider making them more insulated and then centralizing the heating system as a way to reduce heat lose from differing temperatures between the air and water. Best heater for 5800 gallon pond

Just throwing it out their, heating the room is most likely more cost effective (unless you have to finish the space around the tank). HOWEVER, if you look at the below, the OP notes that he will be using 2 4500w heaters. 2 things you need to know tho, first is these run on 240v lines needing 30...

    building a racking system

Your tank with water only will weight roughly 940 pounds, 450/3.78 ~ 119G * 8lb/G, Aquariums are live weight though and so you need to include a saftey factor most often 4 ie targeting a total weight of 4000LBS. 2x4's will support ~800lbs on a vertical meaning that you need 5 vertical legs...

    Heater suggestions

If I were you I would track down one of the Eheim ThermoControl line heaters, built for 230v, however if you are dead set on the Jager line then you will need a step down transformer, just make sure you get it large enough to handle the wattage of the heaters plus a bit.

Hot water heater to heat massive tanks?

Sorry for the delay. Acrylic can be cut with a table saw in your house, While you can cut glass in your house as well, its more of a score and break. As to what adhesive to use, DOW corning is the most commonly referenced for plywood to acrylic.

Hot water heater to heat massive tanks?

Lets start with the easiest and shortest first. A single heater in sump will heat the entire tank, this is true no matter how small. The key thing to remember though is that your tank loses heat, and the more surface area of the tank the quicker it will lose heat. In theory if you insulated a...

    reseal question

No their isn't. Since the silicone wont adhere properly you wont get a proper seal, water will make its way into those imperfections in the bond and deteriorate the silicone between the "layers." Realistically the interior silicone's function is only to keep the water away from the structural...
