Yeah, sorry. Methelyne Blue. I used to work at a lab and we used bromethymal blue as an indicator.

    Chocolate Cichlids laying eggs!

Well, I left the second spawning in the tank hoping the parents would raise them. They fanned them nicely for 3 days then I came in and all the eggs were gone. Crap! Well next time I will remove the eggs and get some bromethymal blue.

    Chocolate Cichlids laying eggs!

There was an airstone. The parents just laid more eggs so I will let them take care of them this time. She did a better job of sticking the eggs to the rock so they aren't going all over the place like last time. They made it thru the first night without eating them too!

    Chocolate Cichlids laying eggs!

My Chocolate's have been acting like lovebirds for two weeks now in the 240gl so I put them in their own tank. Three days later they are laying eggs (or at least trying to) on the slate. The female isn't pushing the eggs down so they are rolling off the rock into the gravel. I think I'll just...

Does anybody have experience with ripsaw catfish?

Thanks for the info, I'll check first, of course. I recently saw a post about him supplying fish to some city aquariums around the country. That's the best place I can think of for Mr. Snuffalupagus!

    Chocolate

They look great! Mine are much smaller, but I love the way they change color at the drop of a hat. Do the larger ones continue to do that?

Does anybody have experience with ripsaw catfish?

I have a Ripsaw that is 15 years old. Gentle giant of a fish. I got him at 1 3/4 inches long and 6 months later he was 1 foot. He never eats other fish, i think he might accidental eat a baby if it got in his mouth, but that's it. Great fish, just be ready to have one that will end up very big...

What to feed my Irwini & Niger?

My niger will come up to the top of the tank and take the algae tabs out of my hand, a real puppy.

What to feed my Irwini & Niger?

My niger loves algae tabs, vacuums them up wholesale. He also loves cocktail shrimp, small sized, peeled. They eat crustaceans in the mud in the wild so it makes sense.

Five 2.5'-3' nigers and three 10"-18" granulosus in 4500 gal

Awesome fish, love the nigers. You want a 28 inch one? My wife saved him from a negligent owner of a lfs that let him get beat up by Oscars and was going to just let him die. She shamed him into giving him to us so we could try to save him. He was less than 2 inches long, we kept him alive and 6...

Any aquariums in the Atlanta area? I've tried to get in touch with the big one here in Atlanta and no luck. Also tried the Chattanooga one, nobody responds to messages.

Nice tank! I have a 240 and I really like the low maintenance aspect of it compared to smaller tanks.
