Help! HITH that never goes away!

if I look closely some of the holes seem to be growing back... I know that some will be permanent, so I’m just wondering when do I know when to put him back? A 10 gallon certainly isn’t the life for a bluegill but I don’t want him to infect the other fish...

Help! HITH that never goes away!

Good news, after weeks and weeks of bad news!! The first hole that ever formed (also the largest) looks like the skin is trying to rebuild itself! It’s not nearly as deep or white as it was before. I’ll continue to do water changes and keep him by himself and let’s hope to see more of that!

Help! HITH that never goes away!

Right now the disease is at a standstill... I’m looking through the pictures of the past month, and it hasn’t gotten better or worse... I’ve been doing lots of water changes and have added different kinds of medicines, I don’t really know what to do. I know that a large fish being In a 10 gallon...

Ugh, everything is happy but the turbos seem to constantly wedge themselves between the coral’s rock and the glass, and push the rock over. How do you stop this?

Just checking, but I’ve noticed over the past few days that the polyps of the coral close at night... in the morning when I turn the lights on, they gradually open up again and it all seems happy and healthy afterward. I can’t find anything online, but I’m assuming this is normal?

Just out of curiosity are there any alternative ways to secure coral to things? I’ll probably just use glue, but are there any other ways? String?

Ok, last night I took two of the turbo snails back to my LFS, they’re just too big! There, I also got my very first coral! I know a lot of people aren’t a fan of GSP because it spreads, but I plan to separate it from the main rock body. All of its polyps went out by this afternoon, and...

Help! HITH that never goes away!

So, the most recent Christmas, I took a vacation and left one of my friends (who is also in the hobby) in charge. They did a pretty good job, but I think they might’ve over fed a bit. Over the next week, my bluegill develops a nasty case of hole in the head disease, so I put him in a separate 10...

Good news! The “machine guns” are doing their job! I left the lights on all day today and no new algae. I do have to clean the tank soon, though...

I finally decided to bring in the heavy reinforcements, and got some Mexican turbo snails. They’re cleaning pretty well, but they’re absolutely LITTERING the bottom with poop. It’s just a constant barrage, reminds me of machine gun bullet casings... I got 4, I might return 1 or 2 because of this...

Finally, after years of dreaming, I started my first reef tank! anyways, I have a few questions about cycling...

Here’s a progress picture! It’s currently an algae “no man’s land” but I’m scrubbing it, reducing light, and will add more snails soon to fight it I scrubbed off all of the hair algae before taking this picture, so it looks a lot better than it usually is... Algae aside, I’m proud of how it’s...

things have been going as they should! The crabs and snails are thriving. The one thing though is that I’m battling a big cyano and Hair algae bloom... and I know exactly how it started. When I first got the live rock there was hair algae on it, but I kept it because I “wanted the ecosystem to...

200 Gallon Fish with terrapin stocking?

From my experience turtles will be very aggressive with fish unless you ‘break’ them, or basically surround them with feeder/cheap fish until they stop biting them in general. Every turtle will be different, it worked for me
