a good growth rate for snowflake moray?

Since you're feeding it like a normal eel, (not like some bro's force-fed eel) 1/2-3/4" a month is a pretty normal, healthy-seeming rate of mass conversion. Those force-fed monsters can do 1-2" a month, but it's definitely not healthy for the fish.

    uv sterilizer yes or no?

Frankly, and I might be hyperbolizing here a bit, but, unless you were running some kind of high end system, public aquarium reef, or extremely delicate coral/fish species that require near constant feedings, UV filter is pretty pointless; it doesn't do enough in the average "small" (as opposed...

    nano reef

IME the opposite is true… People frag off things from their big reef tanks and add them to their nanos, when they get too big, swap out (or sell) and repeat Gman a firefish MIGHT be pushing it… but they are fairly in active… maybe. A nano or clown goby (or one of the smaller...

Semi new tank, question about worms

Did you recover the bodies? The most likely scenario I see here is your damsel and clown were going at it a bit, in a weakened state, at night, I think they probably could have gotten modded by bristle worms… or at the very least they massed around the already dead bodies and feasted...

    Predator fish suggestions?

The (apparent) lack of length means you'd have to stick to smaller fish (8-12) I would think. Just off the top of my head: V-tail grouper snowflake, milliaris, zebra, chain link, or pretty much any other ~2' eel freckled or arc-eye hawkfish frogfish waspfish smaller triggers dogface puffer...

Sweetlips in Less then 300 Gallons?

In my tenure at Rainforest Cafe I had the particular discomfort of having to work with sweet lips… Are you looking for a fish that will exhibit some real personality? Follow you around the tank? Maybe even let you pet it? Then forget the sweetlips. They're basically a stomach with fins...

    little salt tank

10 is small for a clown. Go for a 20, that leaves room for another fish or two if (read, when) she wants more fish. "Oh, he's so lonely in there, we should get him a friend!" Occelaris and percula are the smallest (and often cheapest) clowns commonly available. males only getting about 2-2.5"...

    Snowflake eel tank mates

Any predator will be opportunistic... if there's something that is small enough to swallow and it's not seeing it coming, that fish is going bye-bye. As far as eels go, snowflakes are probably the 3-4th least likely to do that... The 7+ year old one we had at RFC had to be hand fed smelt and...
