I have a planted 30gal at home with a bunch of exodons and one bristle nose pleco. Its my absolute favorite tank of all time. Most exciting fish ive ever kept. Feeding time is feeding frenzy. Wether its live or frozen or flakes or pelllets these things are nutso.

last nite while I was cleaning glass with the lid open and my hand in the tank, my pink tail flew up and outta the tank, did a u turn mid air, and flew back in !!! holy crap man crazy little bugger

I use them also. I leaves em in till they just a skeleton and then pull em out

maybe try reach in and turn it one way. if the lite goes out it went below the water temp and that direction was lowering temp. if the lite stays on then that direction was raising the temp.

LOL one can interact with their Oscar I found. they are like a pet dog sorta. we had one at the aquarium store I worked at that would allow me to put my hands in the tank, slowly grab him and lift him up outta the water. he would go nutso if he seen you walkin up to his tank with the small pail...

I picked one up sunday at my LFS. Bout 6inches long or so. Beautiful fish. Little skittish as they all are but he was eatin like a pig last nite finally.
