    Circulation pumps.

I actually just ordered a Sicce Voyager HP 10, which has a flow rating of 4,000 GPH. It should be more than sufficient for a 125g and be able to implement it into a larger custom tank I am still planning for once I have the funds in place.

Do you think 1000 gph is enough flow for a 6ft tank?

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

That makes sense. I like simple. I think the open design would make it easier to place things like heaters for example.

Why would you not use baffles or compartments?

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

I have been researching a lot on this topic. I have zero experience doing this so it has been pretty overwealming. I have heard arguments for everyone configuration you can imagine. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible, but definitely need it to be quiet. All of the plumbing will have...

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

Good thoughts. One of the reasons I was really going for more height on the aquarium is because my current tank only has a height of 17”. Some of the decor actually gets in the way and doesn’t allow as much room for my ballas to swim. I would also like a little separation from my bottom...

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

I suppose my comment was a little confusing. By depth, I meant front to back, not height. I see what you mean. A lower height (30 vs 36), would still allow it to get through the front door. That is something to consider.

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

Yeah, I think it makes the most sense to go with a 30 inch depth. It will fit through my front door that way.

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

I see. That does limit my options though and I assume that is going to make the price go up. For this particular move, it only has to go through 1 doorway, my front door. I have a large formal dining kitchen area to the right from there, and the plan is to place it against that wall. That is...

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

its a standard 30" doorway. no bay windows i'm afraid....Yes, I could modify the depth to 30” and a 108x36x30 is still about 500 gallons. The original design would be about 600 gallons. The reason for the 37.5” original depth was because of the way they cut their glass. Using standard sheets...

unfortunately, I don't have a sliding glass door, just standard entryway doors.

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

I know I haven't posted in quite a while, but I have decided to resurrect this thread. This project is still in the works, but I had some personal issues that put this all on hold. I am still planning to set this tank up, but it will still be some time before everything is finalized. One issue I...

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet bc I’m still trying to decide. The plumbing and filtration is what I’m researching, but that also effects the tank so I’m taking my time with it. I don’t have it in front of me, but I believe the AGE quote was almost double. However it’s not an exact comparison...

Your plumbing looks awesome! It sounds like you really thought this out. I wish I knew more about the plumbing side of things. I’ve done a little research but there are so many opinions on the best approach to doing this.

Looking to setup a 500+ gallon freshwater sump tank

I think its a similar design, but there are some differences. It's hard to tell in the pic. I may call and ask a few questions. For the money though, it is a good bang for the buck. I suppose you could always do some modifications on the trim work to make it look a little nicer. I was going to...
