I like getting babies, they feel more like YOUR fish when they get bigger.

the only thing I ever got was some bonus snails with some plants i bought. which I got tired of seeing proliferate so i sicked my clown loaches on them. they were gone within a half hour.

I personally look for both, but I would have to say if I had the choice of a hideous fish that acted like a friendly dog, versus a beautifully colored fish that just sat there, I would go with the nice looking one. Theres only so much interaction you can have with a fish anyway. Kind of shallow...

yep, you certainly can. I did it a few times.

close relatives to fire mouths, that may work. but if you want it to be a breeding tank you should give them all the space you can. can you get them locally? or are you ordering from Rapps?(I've never seen them in person, but I know he has them.)

I redecorate, and add cichlids, or something that mixes things up. the more stuff in the tank the fish have to interact with the more entertaining they are to watch.

cool idea, I might have to try something like that some day. as for self sustaining for the water, drip system with under gravel jets, then all you gotta do is change the sponge in the filters every now and then.

I guess theres a good reason we were told not to drink the water untill it had been either filtered or boiled when I went there.....yuck

no, it definitely does not function, in the pic where the cabinets are open, the components are gone, and as said before, the tank takes up the space where the wires would be.

very nice....and great pics btw. I have never had luck with guppies.....its kind of crazy but no matter what i do they just kept dying. its the only fish i have ever had issues with. I wanted them to breed. Then I tried endlers in the same tank, and they breed like mad and did very well. go figure.
