    Make a big filter to run into your pond and put some water cress in it. I put some stone loach into mine but they don't really eat much algae

    With my kids we just told them to be careful, and only let them near the ponds supervised. Also got the kids to stand in the big pond before it was filled so they understand how deep it is

    I have the opposite in my pond, I have a group 12 orfe in with my koi. Also goldfish grass carp and tench, they all mix very well. Orfe are river fish and need lots of space and current also need a group.

    Clean out bottom pond build your wall around it, a new liner won't cause any problems as long as nothing sharp is under it. Deeper pond should be great for your fish. Make sure you use a good underlay

    Albino fish seem to suffer with poor eye sight, might make them struggle to compete for food? Maybe this could contribute to slower growth.

    Will find the article koi was in Surry UK. Interested me because Australia had a koi caught at 92lbs around the same time, and they can't release carp they catch.

    Just wondering, largest koi in the UK is 1.5m long and weighs 90+lbs. Grass carp also reach 1.2m, lots of common and mirror carp exceed 50lbs. My largest carp is only 2 feet long (60cm) but growing steadily. Has anybody got a monster they want to share with us?

    If you have a large water butt you can use an air stone to bubble chlorine out of your water and also use a charcoal filter to polish it. No need for chemicals at all

    It's a big pity, here in the UK I can no longer buy channel catfish. As far as perch go we got loads of them in our local cannal
