honestly for the amount of money these filters are brand new the components need to be wayyyy better My rena XP3's are 18 years old and STILL RUNNING and they were about 1/3d the cost of an FX6. and built to last unlike these things. sorry rant over lol

I would try to do 1/3 weekly. thats pretty standard and it should be fine. if he is eating well he will grow and grow. How large is he now?

I'm not an electrician but my understanding is that you are only to run 80% max load on a breaker safely. So on a 15 amp dedicated circuit you should run no more than around 1400w, you would be using 850w if everything was running at the same time. Isn't a 15 amp circuit then plenty for this...

ya that true either one might be able to jump up the water fall especially when they are smaller

I run two rena XP3 canister filters and an Aquaclear 110 on my 6 foot 150g. the Renas are super old now (one from 2006, one from 2008) but they are still running.

I have never used them but you could always stick an Aquaclear 110 on there. I'm a big fan of the canister and HOB filter combo. an FX6 and an AC110 would be perfect for a 210g

I have always figured big Charlie is a male because of the pointed fins but maybe he's female because his hump isn't huge. Could be Charlize lol

still pretty tough to tell but I'm leaning towards female as the fins are rounded not pointy

Different location now and Big Charlie has been raised in this tank. For that matter the Aqueon 150g tank has been excellent too

amazing! what size is the tank beside it? you will have to keep that window blinded during the day though. you will get green water with sunlight hitting the tanks otherwise.
