    OUTDOOR POND, ALL PIC'S

Here's my pond Its about 1000G 14' long 7' wide at the widest, it steps down from 18" on one end then to 24" and almost 3' in the deep end. The upper pool is filled with water hyacinth and its almost 4' diameter and about 12" deep. Next year I'm going to really expand it and make its about 6' x...

    My native invasive tank

It looks a little big but it also might be the angle of the shot. Nice fish though just be careful about keeping invasive species regardless of them being native to the US.

    600 Gallon Plywood and glass

OK NO MORE BS with frogs or anything else in the tank except more natives! I'll be graduating in December and I already landed THE JOB so look for the tank to come alive again soon! I already have some stock from the 1000G pond I built this past summer to go in there. (LMB, Greenies, Pumpkinseed...

    Feeding Time! Native in 265

Very nice tank! Glad I never tore my 600G down like the wife wanted! Just got a new job and double the pay I think setting it back up again might be my Christmas present to myself. You must keep them fed pretty well for that Flathead to stay away from those crayfish.

Creek Chub Community Gone Horribly Wrong!

To the OP, you cant be serious! You actually thought chubs would be OK with a pickerel? Let me guess you have a hard time distinguishing between predator and prey...

Had a good day with the throw net

What exactly is a tropical temp? And I don't remember him ever specifying a temperature that he kept his fish at. I think this has more to do with people trying to be know it all's. This thread has been derailed .

    my 1st bluegill

Most sunfish aren't picky at all and will eat just about anything. Cichlid pellets or any high quality pellet will do just fine. Good luck with it they can be very fun fish! I had some in my 600 and it wasn't long before I was hand feeding them with my arm in the water holding freeze dried...

My pond plan. Will it work??

I would scratch that entire stock list and really do some more research on every fish you might think you want in there before dumping them in. You have all predators except the sturgeon but its the pike I would worry about killing the rest of your stock. Remember its not only a dog eat dog...

    My pet Alligator Gar

Your gar is Stunted beyond belief.... If you have had him over a year and he can still fit in a 5 gallon bucket like that then something is defiantly wrong with the way you are keeping him. Underfed and his tank and pond are too small. BTW Alligator gar are native much further north than where...

    New 1350 pond! Filtration Ideas

I used a 5G bucket with a lid and a Quiet One 4000 for my pond thats about 1200G and its worked flawlessly. Drill a hole in the top of the lid put in a 1" bulkhead fitting, attached the intake of the pump to it. for the bucket itself I drilled as many holes as I could into it used a piece of the...

New tankmate for my jardini :) A Gar !

Washed out Florida gar patterns don't matter. Jardini aren't typically a good tank mate for any fish, most can be quite ill tempered.

    GOOD TANKMATES FOR GATOR GARS??

Experiment397 ... uh no wrong... If its a real gator gar there aren't many fish that will keep up with it growth wise (if cared for properly) and outside of other gator gar of comparable size as mentioned earlier in a pond or aquarium that will give them ample space, the only tank mates that...
