    dirty green water

Well params were aparantly "out of whack" although no data was posted. Hopefully he corrected the param issues before adding junk chemicals to his tank which usually dont help much until params are stable. Perhaps he will come back in a few months and give us the courtesy of an update???

    Any issues with live feeders?

All it takes is one bad feeder gold or rosie, keep it up and you will end up with problems. Also as was said they have growth inhibiting hormones and I believe thiamasine which when fed long term can actually lead to your fish having a B1 deficiency. It is also found in shrimp so feed it...

Who has their Piranha on pellets?

1- Asking for scientific proof that variety is better seems like a pretty solid statement/argument. 2- What exactly was ignorant about my post? I stated my opinion and backed it up with am explaination of my feeding regiment. 3- I believe you may be confusing "live" with "varied" diet...

Who has their Piranha on pellets?

Did I miss something? Who is bashing pellet feeding? I am a strong believer that a varied diet is best, and part of the diet I feed is indeed Hikari food sticks as a staple. As for proof that variety is best well, there may not be any written scientific data on the subject but if you use...

Who has their Piranha on pellets?

I agree that the above mentioned varied diet is best. This is ironic, usually people are trying to get serra's onto pellets but in this case its all he takes. What is the longest he's starved refusing other foods? If he's thick and healthy with alot of reserves then I would not feed for a...

    Smallest piranha?

For that tank you are best off with a shoal of 20-30 exodons aka bucktoothed tetra assuming proper filtration is used. Be warned though they are lil savages and higher numbers are better so no less than 15 minimum.

    A Piranha ID, please...

I agree with smoke, although a 20 would be bare minimum. What tank is it currently in? A 3ft 38gal or 40ga breeder would be best

    which one to pick

It all depends on the individual fish! My advice is get the one that looks best to you and fits your tank dimensions. P's are not at the top of the food chain in the rivers, they are survivors hence why they are cautious and skitish

    dirty green water

New pool filter sand? Did you recently add this and what about the fx5, I see you mentioned it as though it might be new aswell? I had terrible algae when using pool filter sand, not saying that is the cause but IMO it cant help. Def an algae bloom but why? As Harley stated having more...
