Not really. They were all pretty similar in behaviour. Didn't get any serious fighting. They were all aggressive feeders once trained. I did find that the wild caught kelberi were seriously tough to get on pellets and the tems and pinima were the best feeders.

    Cichlid id please

I'd agree with you there. The bottom two do look like orinos but they are also two very nice looking ocells. It should be a lot clearer once they've grown another inch or two. Where did you get them?

The gar was great. I had him feeding on pellet as well as dead foods so he had no trouble at all. He's actually one of the best tankmates I had with the p's.

Thoughts on true Id of these cichla

These are orinos. You can tell by the way the three bars have golden corner marks that form a square/circle in the middle. Usually baby orinos have large orange eyes with a short snout too. I think once you've kept a few different baby cichla they do get easier to id.

Monster monos kelberi and pinima. I was really proud of the pinima as I grew it from about 2" to 14".

Hey guys. Most of you won't know me as I've not been around for about 7-8 years but I still recognise a couple of names here. I'm well impressed with all the stunning cichla you guys are keeping. I'm still a huge fan of cichla but won't be keeping them again until I can get a 400+ gallon tank...

    First snakehead

Hey guys I've been out of the fish hobby for about 7-8 years. I have a lot of experience with various fish ie. American cichlids, arowana, piranha, hoplias, cichla gars and many others but never had a channel sp. I recently decided to take a 30g tank my mum no longer wanted with the aim to find...

Red Belly Piranha or Black Piranha?

Maybe read the thread? He says one black piranha or five red bellys in a 100 gallon.

Caution! Wear Sunglasses At All Times

Ash your tank looks epic. I can't believe how far your tank and fish collection has come along. Is that an armatus in there? How long have they been available in the UK.

Finally - my 750 Gallon is set up, picture heavy.

Awesome tank bro. I'm very jealous. My pinima went to a guy called dan in Manchester. It would be awesome if you had it. It was very well behaved too.

Rocky the flower horn peacock bass

More evidence of how under rated monos are. He's a beauty.

    New Wild Kelberi

Awesome cichla mate. I really like the azul. You should get another. Don't get so hung up on rare cichla. Once you get them up to 15" most of them look amazing. Look at Ash's monos. Still some of the nicest cichla I've seen in the UK. Probably looked a little nicer when I was keeping them lol...

    Quick Update

 Hulons hand has become the official measuring instrument for cichla. Funnily enough we don't call them English All Sorts over here. Lovely collection there Ash. Still not added any blue yet? Your making me very jealous. We just moved Lauras 6x2x2 into the house the other day...
