    Electric Blue Acaras

Not usually a fan of line-bred morphs, but they're lovely fish, and if anything can stir people to keeping (Blue) Acara's I'm all for it. An underrated Cichlid due to their perceived popularity that are personable, reasonably peaceful, and gorgeous. Will always hold a place in my heart as my...

    New Geophagus Steindachneri

They'll always do best on sand, worth the change since the OP also has Corydoras. In my opinion it's also worth it because 'G' steindachneri are amazing diggers, when sifting sand they'll bury their entire mouth and face almost up to their eye underneath the substrate and absolutely shovel...

    Geophagus filtration ideas.

You want something with a 2-3x turnover but high capacity. FX5 is the almost the opposite (High turnover, lowish capacity). I'd look at Eheim products.

My salvinis dont do anything :(

Wait it out, presuming water quality etc. is fine. I'm more surprised that the Serpae's are surviving than I am about the Salvini being a little skittish.

    ID this Mesonauta pls

Pretty hard to tell from those shots. Looks like either festivus or egregius but I've never kept Mesonauta sp. How long have they been settled in? May need to let them pack on a bit more size (and in the case of Mesonauta, width) and get some clear shots for the experienced keepers down the...

    Geophagus cf. argyrostictus "Aripuana"

They're currently in with: - 40 odd Inpaichthys kerri (varying sizes, many are fresh into the tank as the original colony slowly whittled away due to age over the last 24 months) - ~15 large adult Corydoras caudimaculatus - ~12 or so moderately sized Golden Pencilfish (N. beckfordi) - These...

    Geophagus cf. argyrostictus "Aripuana"

They have spawned but not for quite a while. I split the colony yesterday and the dominant male has already started digging a pit in the front right corner of the tank with two females watching him. For those interested in picking them up, understand these guys are slow growers. Purchased at...

    Geophagus cf. argyrostictus "Aripuana"

Definitely, but it's not relentless like some species can be (A. heckelii comes to mind). Caudal fins take a beating but generally heal. There's a lot less aggression now that I'm down to six in a 6x2x2 compared to the original 14/15 (Had a disappearance, unsure when :|)

    Geophagus cf. argyrostictus "Aripuana"

Only keeping six now, have moved the rest on. Here's a couple of my dominant male as a quick update after not posting here (or anywhere really) for 6 months. He's roughly 20cm (7 1/2"). Ryan.

    Uaru fernandezyepezi - round 2

Finally decided to jump back on for a browse. Nice little project for yourself here. Hopefully "the eight" continue to do well. Much respect for re-trying a hard to keep fish that I'll never see (I tried T. candidi multiple times and gave up :().
