    Is this decent lighting?

That bulb is 10 watts. If your hood holds 2 screw in bulbs just go to any hardware store or even walmart and get some GE daylight 6500k bulbs. For a 10g low tech I would get 2 15 watt bulbs or 1 26 watt GE 6500k.

Going off of jaw structure and spot I am leaning twards Microlepis. I had 2 of these some years ago that were Ided by Tom lorenz on pfury as such. And they are a good one to have. Sort of like a Falcirostris But a little smaller and much deeper bodied when bigger. Mine got to around 11" in the...

cuda id and atf id please

99.9% sure there no falcatus. The only reason I say 99% is because cuda's have the ability to wash there color allmost totally out during times of stress or acclimation. I would need a clear snout shot to be sure on ID. But they could be Fals or minimus. If the top jaw is round and fatter...

    New FW Barracuda

Ace Falcirostris He should grow about a inch a month up to 6-7 ish. And then hit 8-10" at 1 year old. When these guys are young they can eat there weight in rosey's everyday. As long as there is enough food. Usually they have a fairly high parasitic load when bought. So after a month or so...

    Hydro. Scomb 1 year Anniversery

IMO no There's allmost allways a reason. Its usually stress from tank mates. All these wild caught hydrolycus species are very fragile in aquaria when young. Most people try to put them with cichlids or other large toothy predators and they just cant take it as juvies.

    Tank Turnover

All but the rediculously over stocked tanks will have no problem keeping ammonia and nitrate to undetectable levels with as little as 1-2 turnovers per hour. But with such low turn overs there will be a ton of build up on the bottom and possible suspended sediment in the water column. A turn...

    AquaClear Carbon In Planted Tank?

purigen is rechargable... But in all honesty carbon or any other chemical filtration is not needed in fresh water aquariums period. A water change will remove a million times more nasties than a carbon bag ever could. And if you want clearer water then switch to a finer mechanical media.

    Charax Gibbosus availability
