It also needs to be taken into consideration that puffers are generally more sensitive to water quality. Additionally, I've seen a Mbu that was at least 30 inches long, they get huge but I'm sure you guys all know that. I disagree with the 300G though, that is wayy too small for a fish that size...

Yeah it's in Davis, they were huge! haha and yeah the green ones looked really great for the most part.

Agreed. They grow super fast and will eat all sorts of things. Very peaceful but they get pretty big. Plan on upgrading VERY soon.

My personal opinion is don't waste your time trying to get it to live with tankmates. More often than not, the fahaka will rip the other fish to shreds. Although some people have had success doing it, fahakas are very unpredictable. If you do try it, just don't get too close to any of the fish...

Be sure to rinse it out a lot. I do it until I can see the sand under the water.

"can be"? It can be deadly long-term, especially when you are constantly exposed to it. And yes, smoke smells nasty. Besides, there is NOTHING redeeming about smoking. At all.

I would suggest talking to members with experience with systems like this, JohnPTC and ArapaimaG just off the top of my head.

Excellent advice from Oddball as usual. Keep in mind that South American Puffers have rather fast growing teeth, but they are the most-community oriented puffer I know of.
