    Kinked Micro

I've never heard a keeper say that it grows out, but i have seen pictures of large red's having a kink

    Kinked Micro

It's more common than you would think. I've heard it being put down to in breeding, physical damage to the fish somehow or malnutrition.

Auranti,,, love is in the air ( water)

They sure do. Just keep things as they are, you've done something right to get a pair. Don't forget to lower the temperature/ water change at the right times, my pair never managed to spawn as i couldn't get the temperature low enough in the house.

    Sexing Channa Aurantimaculata

If he was in a river, he would have swam off long ago and found a new territory to live in. I would say its only fair to re home him or find another tank for him. It will only lead to him suffering/being killed.

    Sexing Channa Aurantimaculata

I have no doubt that they will eventually. Once s pair starts to emerge or a dominant fish that wants the tank to himself.

    My Channa andrao

Very nice. When my Auranti dies, hopefully not for a while yet, i would like some firebacks in his 6ft tank.

    My Channa andrao

If its big enough and there are enough territories, you might be able to achieve it. How long have you had the firebacks living peacefully? Any pairs formed?

Just remove the 3rd one, they will best him to death. Very nice fish, they look happy.

Need help with my channa aurantimaculata!

We humans have large temperature changes naturally, but we still prefer a steady tempetature if we can get it. I try to relate my own feelings to the fish and give them a steady, average temperature for the time of year

    Channa Micropeltes

My first batch i simply didn't feed them enough as they got bigger and the other, i couldn't afford a new tank, i was out of work for 3 months, i had to re home them. They will be fine in that tank for a good while i would say. They might end up fighting as they get older, they usually end up...

    Channa Micropeltes

They are prone to ich/white spot when young, in my experience. I've only kept them a few times, but with a 90% survival rate as they grow. They never made it past 13 inches, down to my inexperience. Some say minimum of 6ft long tank. I wouldn't keep one in less than a 9ft x 2.5ft. Height isn't...

    Substrate???

I used unipac fiji coarse sand. Took about 50kg to fill my 6ft tank. I only ever keep live plants in pots, i mostly use silk plants that my auranti can't dig up/destroy.

    Substrate???

I used to keep dwarf snakeheads with sand with no problemz, they didn't clog my filters up. My Pulchra used to clog the filter up with all their shenanigans. Any snakehead over pulchra size, i wouldn't use sand. I don't like large particle substrate, so a heavier rock sand/ fine gravel is the...
