Nerites snails are safe. they are even usually 2-5$ so... score. tehy are algae eaters. moss balls are good for shrimp to eat off of and to collect food and such for the shrimp kinda like a lint cloth. was the filter cycled? thats a lot of fish very quick.

put a peice of wood ontop of the peice on the edge of the counter that you are snapping it on. line the peice of wood on top up with the score, and the edge of the counter below it. score it only once. If you score twice, and its not exactly the same score, your f'd GL

nice start. defenetly swap out the gravel. Try plants like java fern, wendelovs fern, anubias, cryptocoryne, java moss.

Sorry didnt receive in time. Crypts are amazing plants. You'd definetly be happy with them i was about to say that those look in poor health though. You shoulf buy some though, just make sure they look nice enough. keep in mind that crypts melt when they are moved, but they are hardy and grow...

yeah DHG wont likely work. A more demanding plant. Try Dwarf Sag.

Depends what you want to do plant and care wise. The more light, the more demands a plant has (were algae isn't as limited) 10-20 Watts wpuld be a good area to be in. 20+ is less limiting in what you can grow, but the plants require more nutrient uptake.

as far as I know you litterally cant use clumping cat litter for substrate as it turns to silt in water,

clumping turns to mud. yes well all clay aquarium substrates are dusty. Have you ever washed fluorite?

Try to buy the Non-Clumping, Non-Scented version. Non clumping is the important part. Use carbon in the filter to help remove scent, even on a bucket its in if you want to soak it. $20 for eco is even good. Locally it's $29 at lowest.
