    pacu?

I've got a rescued red belly pacu in a stock vat. It was about ten inches in the body last August and is about sixteen to eighteen inches now. It was and probably still is stunted. The vat is six by four by two feet deep. I'll need to go larger... Filtration is via a large external and a home...

    My Clarias catfish

I've just bought an albino clarias. It's only about three inches and in a 30g on it's own. When it gets large enough not to be eaten by my pacu, its going in the pacu's stock tank. Probably take about three weeks to get large enough!

    SCATS!

I've got three green scats in 1.004 sg water. 40g tank - for now they are 2". They can indeed go full marine and you'd probably save on salt that way because you can use Live Rock and a big skimmer - only 10 % per week change this way. I plan to put mine in a much larger tank with my two green...

    red belly piranha indoor pond???

Hi, I've got a 14 inch red belly pacu in a 6 by 4 by 2 foot deep stock tank. It was nervous to start with, sitting on the bottom and looking up - trying to hide behind the pond filter etc. I put a 90l plastic dustbin in for a cave and it spent a week in there before coming out and hanging out...

    Pacu tank mates

Looks like I've got some fun to look forward to. I've just brought in and filled a 6 by 4 by 2 foot stock tank - luckily in a conservatory with a concrete floor. Even that's not going to be big enough long term for my red bellied pacu - it's about a foot long now. Pond pump and pond filters...

My GSP is acting wierd. help please

Just an idea - would you be able to set up a tank specially for it? Or a couple of them? You could keep one in a 30g tank because they get to about 6". Maybe you could put in a mature filter or some of the media from your existing tanks into an internal power filter and slowly go brackish or...

Dumbest thing you've done in/to aquariums?

I don't know how many heaters I have destroyed by either leaving them on when draining a tank or plugging in with a heater out of the water but it's at least six in ten years. A results of too many tanks, plugs and wires - be fine if I wasn't so untidy with them. I do go just from tank to 4-way...

    My first arowana

I'll be after a silver aro before too long, when my stock tank's set up and matured. This time it's not going back to the shop - a red tail cat ate my last one! It'd raised it from having a yolk sac...

    Polycarbonate tank build - framed?

Just another shot of the tank the pacu is in at the moment. If he get's to four feet, I'll have to stick an in line gas heater on my outside pond! Or something. Like move house and look for one with an attached conservatory/sun room and put in a twelve foot circular pond. I'm not kidding!

It's dark in here! Sorry for sacre at my ugly mug, couldn't resist standing in the vat! The guy I bought it from said he was selling five of them for 100 ukp each so if anyone in the uk is reading this, it's the best deal I've found. PM me and I'll send his details. Near Darlington, up north...

    Polycarbonate tank build - framed?

If I had the cash I would have tried the acrylic route in preference to polycarb, it was just what seemed available. I'd really like to try the plywood/glass way but wonder if I dare? Could always test it in the outhouse where a burst wouldnt matter:-) That would be another project... For the...

    Polycarbonate tank build - framed?

I found out at the last minute that the '10mm polycarb sheeting' was not a solid sheet - it was the hollow form made for insulating conservatory roofs. So that was the end of that idea. These were for sale for 55ukp each instead of the 300ukp i'd otherwise expect for the same thing. Still my...
